Brathay Hall, located less than two miles south-west of Ambleside, just off the north western shore of Lake Windemere, is a gorgeous Mansion nestled amidst the Central Fells. It is located at the heart of the Lake District National Park, midway between Windemere and Keswick, making it easily accessible by car, bus, train or coach. You can enjoy beautiful views of green rolling hills and expansive lakes all around you. The peaceful, tranquil setting makes Brathay Hall the perfect location for a rejuvenating and deeply restorative break to get away from it all.

The hall is set amongst 360 acres of land, woodland and natural beauty that leads down to the shore of Windemere. Take in breath-taking views, overlooking the grounds and lake, within the woods, or towards the fells that sit as a stunning backdrop to picturesque Ambleside. Relax at the impressive Hall during free time, go for a walk and enjoy seasonal produce. Or simply unwind in the yoga space and chill out areas: it’s up to you. Practise yoga in both indoor and outdoor spaces, in the sun or under the cool shade of luscious trees.

The weekend schedule:

Arrival time is from 4pm on the Friday. Rosanna and Sion will warmly welcome you at the Hall with an evening Hatha yoga class and meditation session so you can relax after your journey, followed by a dinner all together in the Hall restaurant. On Saturday morning, there will be Hatha yoga classes and meditation to help you wake up and energise your body, centre your mind and feel refreshed for the day ahead, followed by a wholesome breakfast. What previous students have said about our retreats:

“Great people, great yoga and meditation and amazing walks. I came home feeling relaxed and refreshed and would totally recommend” Heather, UK

“I was nervous joining a retreat for the first time on my own, unsure of what to expect. But from the moment I arrived Rosanna & Sion made us all feel at ease and provided a very nurturing and warm welcoming environment to rest, restore and focus on our wellbeing which is exactly what I needed. I would recommend yoga day retreats to anyone who wants to recharge the batteries or just slow down the pace of life for a short while to look inward. I’ve made some friends for life and come away with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity for my life’s path” Sarah, Chorley

“Both Rosanna and Sion had put together a great itinerary . Had a great mix of different types of yoga which was brilliant for all abilities . The walks were amazing and the meditation was wonderful. The days were organised well and getting to the venue by bus / train was really easy The food was well cooked and fresh and packed lunches were organised when we were out walking. It was also possible to book a massage with a therapist brought in Penny who was brilliant too. Thankyou Rosanna and Sion – I didn’t want to come back home ” Clare, Manchester

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga Retreat at Rydal Hall in the Lake District. Rosanna and Sion were welcoming and included everybody. The group of people taking part varied in age and experience and everybody could access and enjoy the activities. As a solo traveler, I was made to feel totally included – I could be sociable when I chose and have my own space when I needed it. I loved the combination of Yoga, mindfulness meditation, walking, and swimming – I could connect with the beautiful environment (lakes and mountains) and with my own body and mind. I felt the combination of challenge and support in the level of Yoga practice and walking was perfect for my ability (intermediate). The walking routes were well planned and stimulating, with an opportunity to visit caves and Mountain tarns and also peruse pretty villages. Thank you!” Maggie, London
